Regulated Waste Management
While performing research in a laboratory, the generation of waste is inherent. We in the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) office are here to help you understand and manage this waste. Hunter’s labs produce a number of waste streams, or types, and each must be regulated and treated differently. The goal is to dispose of laboratory waste by means that are responsible and safe for the employee, the community, and the environment. Each laboratory employee is required to attend training on these and other EHS issues upon hiring, and there is no substitute for thorough safety training.
