Safety Training
Hunter College is committed to ensuring a healthy and safe work environment for all faculty, staff, and students. The Office of Environmental Health and Safety offers training on a variety of topics as it relates to worker safety.
Introduction:
It is the responsibility of all supervisors, managers and principal investigators to identify job specific hazards, to provide job specific safety training and to require employees under their authority to participate in mandatory EHS training.
Job-specific training must also be provided by supervisors, managers, and principal investigators:
- During a new employee’s initial orientation;
- When major aspects of a job change or new materials or hazards are introduced to the work place
Supervisors, managers and principal investigators are responsible for maintaining safety training records for employees under their authority. Regulatory agencies can require evidence of employee training during inspections. Be sure to document all training received.
