Tali received her B.A. from Hunter College in 1997, majoring in English literature and Special Honors Curriculum. She is currently finishing her dissertation, entitled "Dicky Birds that Never Die: Substitute Fathers in Victorian and Edwardian Children's Literature," at the Ph.D. program in English at the CUNY Graduate School and University Center. Tali has written book reviews and presented numerous papers in various conferences. Her article "Being Father: The Absent Father and Political Reform in E. Nesbit's The Railway Children" awaits publication in an upcoming special issue of the Children's Literature Association Quarterly. Before she began teaching at Hunter in 2001, Tali taught ESOL, writing and literature courses at Baruch College. After a two year absence working as a CUNY Writing Fellow, Tali returns to Hunter to teach Introduction to Literature and Children's Literature.
