About Cool Roofs 2014

An NYC-sponsored program to reduce summertime energy consumption.

In the summer of 2013 Hunter College participated in NYC's "Cool Roofs" project--an initiative sponsored by Mayor Bloomberg's office.  Heat-deflecting materials were applied to the roofs of three of Hunter's buildings, an effort which reduces the sun's heat load on and inside the buildings, helping us to do our part in reducing the energy we must consume to cool our buildings during summertime.  You can read more about Hunter's participation in this program last summer HERE.
