Brookdale Campus: Post-Superstorm Sandy Renovations

The Hunter Facilities department has been working diligently to insure a speedy recovery from flooding damage the Brookdale Campus sustained during Superstorm Sandy. The photos contained on this page show various aspects of the work involved.

: 3/6/13: The Brookdale pool nears completion--shown here refilled and outfitted with new equipment. The pool will be ready for use once testing and commissioning is complete.

: Physical Therapy Department: Ceiling and floor tiles are being installed throughout the space. Painting is nearly complete. Furniture is being delivered for an expected March 11, 2013 reoccupancy. (Photo posted on 2/26/13)

: (Posted 2/19/13) Major electrical work started Saturday to install new main electrical distribution panels for each campus building and new switchgear cabinets (shown above) in the main switchgear room. The work is proceeding in phases starting with the West Building (completed on Saturday, 2/16/13) and moving to the North Building, and then the East Building. Each phase lasts approximately 12 hours and is further compartmentalized to minimize power disruption to individual spaces. This work is a major component of the recovery work related to the superstorm. <br />

: The campus receives a delivery of the main electrical switch boxes for the entire campus. Since Superstorm Sandy, the campus has been running on a temporary set-up of electrical switches.
