ENTRANCE  COUNSELING
Every student who wants to apply for a Federal Direct Loan must be provided  with entrance counseling information. At Hunter College, students may  complete the entrance counseling requirement using the world wide web.  The Direct Loan Entrance Counseling web site is located at

http://lo-online.ed.gov/entrance_counseling/01_ec_main.shtml

Students may access this web site directly or from the Hunter College  Office of Financial Aid web site. Students should read through all the  information that is provided at the Direct Loan Entrance Counseling web  site. After reading all the information provided, the student will be  asked to take an on-line quiz to insure comprehension of the entrance  counseling information that is provided. If all the questions on the quiz  are answered correctly, the student will print out a Borrower's Statement  of Rights and Responsibilities. The signed statement should then be returned  to the OASIS with the completed Request form.

The entrance counseling requirement can be completed at any PC with an  attached printer. If you don’t have access to a PC and printer, you can  use any one of a number of Hunter College facilities listed here:

The  entrance counseling requirement for the Federal Direct Loan program needs  to be completed just once while in attendance at Hunter College. Students  who borrow in subsequent years need not repeat the entrance counseling  requirement.
