Federal Aid Program Descriptions and Other Federal Campus-Based Programs

A FEDERAL PELL GRANT can be used to pay your tuition, or help cover the cost of book, supplies and transportation if your tuition is covered by other means. U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens enrolled in degree programs and who meet certain income criteria may qualify for a Federal Pell Grant. The Federal Pell Grant is determined by your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) as noted on your Federal Student Aid Report. The 2009-2010 Pell Award Chart outlines the amount of Federal Pell Grant funds for which you may be eligible.

FEDERAL WORK-STUDY is a program that provides part-time jobs to undergraduate and graduate students who need additional financial aid. The Work-Study program allows students to earn the money needed to help pay for education-related expenses. Jobs are available both on and off-campus and include community service work. A listing of current job opportunities is available on this website.

FEDERAL SEOG (Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant) assists exceptionally needy students and is intended to supplement other forms of financial aid for undergraduates. Award amounts vary according to the availability of program funds.

A FEDERAL PERKINS LOAN is a low interest loan awarded by the college to students who demonstrate financial need.  Perkins Loans can be used to cover tuition or other education-related expenses. Students must begin to repay these loans to the college 9 months after graduation or 9 months after their last date of enrollment. Perkins Loans are not available to entering students.
