Federal Work-Study Information
To determine the amount of your Federal Work-Study (FWS) award, please review your current Financial Aid Award Letter. If you are eligible, you may have the opportunity to being working during the summer, or you may wait until the fall semester begins. If waiting until the fall, a Fall Job Placement Schedule will be emailed to you in August; therefore, it is important that you activate and use your Hunter College email account. Regardless of when you start working, you may not earn more than the amount of your award.
Students who work through the Federal Work-Study program must provide proof to the college that they are eligible to work in the United States. Please review the Employment Eligibility Verification form, which includes a list of acceptable documentation.
Before job placement, we encourage you to check the Federal Work-Study job listings at the links below. Print the listings that interest you, and bring them with you when you come to the Office of Financial Aid (Rm. 241N).
For additional information, please see the Federal Work-study "Student Guide" Handbook.
The Office of Financial Aid Federal Work-Study Coordinator is Daffodil Dennis, who can be reached at daffodil.dennis@hunter.cuny.edu.
