Dear Freshman Student:

Welcome to Hunter College! You are about to embark upon new learning experiences and adventures. To ease your transition from high school to college, we invite you to avail yourself of all the assistance and resources that the staff and faculty of Hunter College have to offer.

Throughout your first year at Hunter, The Freshman Advising team will work with you to assist in the many new processes, procedures, policies, people and places that you will encounter. Orientations, advising sessions, programs, workshops and other helpful events are arranged throughout your first year at Hunter to help you get adjusted, to better navigate the academic system, and to make informed decisions about your academic career and your future.

Each student is assigned to a particular Freshman Advisor, based on the first letter of your last name. These advisors are available to assist you in making decisions, and can help with everything from registering for classes to registering a complaint, from finding your classroom to finding your passion, from meeting new friends to meeting academic expectations, and with all of the other challenges that will arise as you begin your academic journey. This website is designed specifically for Freshman students, and contains access to important resources, events, tutorials, and other information that is crucial during the first year at Hunter College. Please refer back to this site often as you make your way through your first year, and always feel free to contact us should you have any questions.
