Haydee Salmun, a 2002-2003 GEP Sponsorship Program Associate, is one of nine women scientists selected to speak at the AAAS Latin American Lecture Series on women in science and engineering. Selected speakers have been invited to present their stories about overcoming the challenges of pursuing scientific careers in fields traditionally dominated by male scientists. Haydee, a professor in the Department of Geography at Hunter College, will present her story in Panama in November, 2002.

Dr. Page Morahan, an expert in strategic career planning and leadership development, will make several presentations to the Hunter College community on December 4, 2002.
The GEP is pleased to announce that Page S. Morahan, Ph.D., the Founding Director of the National Center of Leadership in Academic Medicine and the Co-Director of the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program for Women, will be at Hunter College on December 4, 2002. Dr. Morahan, an expert in strategic career planning and leadership development, will meet with senior administrators and present two workshops:
- a workshop on mentoring for the Gender Equity Project Sponsorship Program
- a workshop for general Hunter faculty entitled "Strategic Career Planning for Junior Faculty: Hit the Road Running and Stay the Course".
