Situated at Hunter College, located in the heart of New York City, and part of the City University of New York network, we are committed to understanding and encouraging high level achievement in diverse kinds of learners, with a particular focus on urban settings.

Since 1941, Hunter College Campus Schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12) have been publicly-funded laboratory schools for intellectually gifted learners, and are widely regarded as preeminent schools for gifted education. At the Gifted Center (initiated in 2001), we are working toward establishing a scaffolded set of teacher development opportunities for teachers. Built on Hunter's long record of work in this field, we are gaining recognition internationally as a "go-to" place for urban gifted issues as we create a nexus for programs, activities, services, and institutions pertaining to gifted education and development.
