The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program currently operates via a consortium arrangement among the Graduate Center of CUNY (the degree-granting institution) and the College of Staten Island and Hunter College campus programs. We are beginning a transition whereby the College of Staten Island and Hunter College will each assume degree-granting authority. The first step in the transition will take place at Hunter College. On July 16, 2012, the Board of Regents of the New York State Education Department granted approval for Hunter College to grant the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. This will become effective for students enrolled in the Class of 2016 (beginning June 2013).

PLEASE NOTE: The program starts in the summer session. However, when completing the online application you need to select the Fall 2013 option as the potential start date.There is no Summer 2013 option in the online application system.
Applying to the gradaute program at Hunter College is a fully online process. The online application system requires that applicants:
- Complete the core application form and any program-specific supplemental forms online
- Upload a statement of purpose
- Upload scanned unofficial copies of their transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended
- Submit letters of recommendation, by the recommenders, via our Online Recommendation System

Minimum Admissions Requirements:
You must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for admission. Meeting these minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance to the program.
A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution comparable in standard and content to a bachelor’s degree from Hunter College.
Minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.0.

- Applicants whose native language is not English and who have taken all or part of their undergraduate education in a country where English is not the native language are required to submit scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The following minimum scores must be obtained:
- Paper Based Test: 550
- Computer Administered Test: 213
- Internet Based Test: 80
