Welcome to the Hunter College Center for Gifted Studies & Education

The mission of the Hunter College Center for Gifted Studies and Education is to support and empower gifted students, their teachers, and their families by playing a leading role in research, teacher training, and the development of curriculum, program, and policies.   • Offer the Advanced Certificate Program in Gifted Education (4 courses; 12 credits; Gifted Certificate extension)
  • Conduct research on critical issues in gifted education
  • Engage collaboratively with Hunter College Campus Schools
  • Serve as a resource to the NYC Department of Education, with a target emphasis on the city-wide gifted schools, district-wide gifted programs, and specialized high schools
  • Sponsor national speakers, events, and programs highlighting best practices in gifted education
  • Provide professional development for teachers, administrators, and parents
