What do you do?

  • Supervise, train and evaluate the work of the office staff to ensure accurate processing of all employment actions and CUNYfirst data corrections and discrepancies
  • Monitor all hiring and termination procedures to ensure that necessary administrative and payroll actions are completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Supervise and review the preparation of  the Chancellor/University Reports with the University to finalize and transmit reports
  • Analyze, review and respond to the University regarding highly confidential and sensitive inquiries and investigations involving employee and perspective employee arrests and convictions
  • Partner with departments and management to ensure compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements, College and University policies, procedures and employment laws by monitoring day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, time and leave and related employment issues
  • Manage the performance evaluation process.  Recommend improvements and monitor evaluation timeliness and accuracy
  • Prepare and effectuate Classified Managerial increases and Higher Education series reappointments
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continuous improvements in the processing of employment actions and other delivery of services
  • Perform special assignments and projects as assigned by the Executive Director and Deputy Director of Human Resources
  • Advise supervisors in the area of hiring, evaluation and progressive discipline and facilitate employee counseling and conflict resolution
  • Supervise staff  in the preparation of the agenda and distribution of material for the Faculty Personnel & Budget (FP&B) review and approval process
  • Assist Labor Relation Officers with research information pertaining to Human Resources

    January 16, 1996-June 30, 2007 (From July 1, 2007-April 12, 2009@Medgar Evers College/CUNY) and return home to Hunter April 13, 2009-Present

    What did you study? Major: Sociology; Minor: Africana/Puerto Rican/Latino Studies

Because of my high level of commitment, tenacity to see the job to completion, open and receptive to any questions, always willing to help above and beyond and clearly a spirit of love and commitment to the job and the people I work with and to the team.

Because I have the credibility of knowledge, experience and history of the systems and pathways of HR, the hunter college community knows they can always count on me.Many people have shared that I am reliable and solid.It's a great feeling!I am so very thankful and blessed!!

    What's the best advice you can offer? Be humble; identify and practice sensitivity with the people you serve and never forget where you come from.

Tell us two things personally or professionally that you would like us to know about you. Love to travel and spend time with family and friends. I have the tendency to be a Workaholic. I need to come up for air sometimes
