Welcome!

In the Honors Lounge The Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College provides a challenging and enriching intellectual community for nearly 300 University Scholars. Students enjoy the intimacy of a small liberal arts college within the context of a major research institution. The program is renowned for world-class faculty and facilities, personalized academic advising, caring support, and an unbeatable location, right in the heart of Manhattan. Through interdisciplinary seminars, specialized Honors courses, and classes at other CUNY campuses, University Scholars lead a rich intellectual life, regularly engaging in discussions and debates with their professors and each other.

Honors College students are given the option of living at Hunter's Brookdale dormitory, which houses roughly 600 students and is located near fashionable Gramercy Park just a short subway ride from the 68th Street campus. Dorm facilities include community kitchens and lounges, a computer lab, tennis courts, a pool, gym, fitness center, and game room.

Students in the Honors College receive a University Scholarship, which provides the following: tuition for four years; a dorm room; a laptop computer; a $7500 study grant, which can be used to study abroad or subsidize unpaid internships; a Cultural Passport that provides free or reduced entry to hundreds of New York City cultural institutions; and priority registration each semester.
