Christina Curella, Class of 2008
"In the diverse setting of New York City, I have experienced many cultures: I have practiced and performed everything from ballet to Chinese ribbon dance, salsa to West African dance; eaten foods from Manhattan's Little India to Brooklyn's Odessa by the Sea, and I hope to gain even more from travels abroad. The four seminars of the Honors College have piqued my interests in interdisciplinary studies of cities and
public policy, and in the fall of 2006 I'll be going abroad to study
city planning, which the Honors College will support academically and financially."

Julia Colchie, Class of 2006
"The opportunities that this program has offered me cannot be over-emphasized. Beyond the rigorous coursework and the high caliber of professors that both the CUNY Honors College and Hunter College offer, the doors that have been opened to me in terms of study abroad options and internship opportunities are quite remarkable. Not only are they the means by which I determined the choices of my three majors, but they have significantly broadened the career and higher education options I have beyond graduation."

Roman Koulikov, Class of 2006
"Honors seminar classes on the arts and the architecture/design of New York, taught by experts in their respective fields, were very enjoyable. The standards that these professors held me up to improved my writing abilities, taught me to interpret art and exposed me to the wonderful places that make New York City unique. A year-long study abroad trip to Japan allowed me to immerse in a wholly different country where I learned the language, made many friends and saw a traditional lifestyle while travelling extensively in the countryside. Life at the Hunter dorm, which is close to the cultural and entertainment attractions, has given me the best of both the college and the big city experiences."
