Physics
majors are encouraged to participate in a research project with
a faculty member in a laboratory doing experimental work. Often
this research work results in the student participating in and
giving a presentation at a major research conference. In addition,
any student who is planning on going on to graduate school is
encouraged to participate in the 5-year BA-MA program. This means
that they spend their last year taking graduate courses taught
at the Graduate center.
