HUMAN ECOLOGY: An Interdisciplinary Journal
HUMAN ECOLOGY: An Interdisciplinary Journal provides a forum for papers concerned with the complex and varied systems of interaction between people and their environment. Research papers from such diverse fields as anthropology, geography, psychology, biology, sociology, and urban planning are welcomed. All submissions are peer reviewed. The journal also features a Book Review section. Human Ecology is published by Springer Nature, 233 Spring Street, New York, NY, 10013, the second largest publisher of scientific journals and books. All articles are widely abstracted and indexed on over 70 databases. We welcome contributions in the form of feature articles, research reports, brief communications, multiple-book review essays, book reviews, and commentaries. Human Ecology appears six times a year for a total of more than 1200 printed pages. Accepted and edited contributions are published online (Online First) prior to the print edition. The Journal is now in its 44th year of publication and enjoys worldwide circulation. Print copies are available in the libraries of most leading universities and centers for environmental research.

PEER REVIEWERS INVITED
Human Ecology welcomes qualified reviewers to join our roster of professionals willing to review manuscripts.
If you are interested, please send us a brief outline of your research expertise relevant to environmental sciences together with five key words denoting your regional interests, topical specialization and research focii. Registration form is available here. Reviewers may also register directly via Editorial Manager.
All manuscripts are delivered to readers in pdf (fdf) format. We recommend using Adobe Acrobat 6 or later to open fdf files.
NOTE TO PEER REVIEWERS
As are most academic journals, we are greatly indebted to the busy scholars who review manuscripts. While we try to keep our demands on individuals to a minimum, we often have to send manuscripts out at inopportune times. If you plan to do a review but your schedule does not permit the full response you would like to make, please feel free to offer even brief comments and, perhaps, the names of alternate reviewers. If you feel you cannot finish the review after agreeing, please let us know as soon as possible.
