Para-dice (Stage 1)
In Para-dice (Stage 1), part one of the culminating evening of PLATFORM 2010, Patricia Hoffbauer playfully deconstructs the structure of an academic lecture on the relationship between dance and subjectivity, and juxtaposes it with a performance piece where ideas about otherness are buttressed against different practices and ideas in the dance field today. Peter Richards has constructed a visual narrative featuring excerpts of work by Brazilian filmmaker Glauber Rocha. Text cited in the piece is by Rocha, Brenda Dixon Gottschild, and Langston Hughes. Original text by George Emilio Sanchez.
Para-dice (Stage 1) is performed by Patricia Hoffbauer, George Emilio Sanchez, Peggy Gould, Elisa Osborne and Peter Richards.
