Princeton Review: Guide to Green Colleges

Hunter College was included in the Princeton Review's 2014 and 2015 edition of the top 334 Green Colleges in the U.S. and Canada. Hunter's momentous inclusion was based off the College's focus and commitment to improving energy efficiency as well as the aggressive goals the campus has set to raise awareness, invest in more sustainable projects, and engage more fully with the Hunter community.

Every year, reports are completed by college administrators in order for The Princeton Review to survey and assess a college's sustainability policies, practices and programs to determine an institution's overall Green Rating score. Listed colleges and universities must earn a score of 83 or higher on Princeton's Green Rating scoring methodology to be included in the Green Colleges Guide.
Check out the most recent edition of Princeton's Green College Guide and see what other schools made the list.

REV Campus Challenge

Launched in Fall 2015 as a program of NYSERDA, the REV Campus Challenge was created to promote and support public and private colleges and universities who are leading by example and taking action to build a more resilient and clean energy future. Since inception, 40% of New York State’s higher education institutions have signed up for the REV Campus Challenge.
Hunter College joined the REV Campus Challenge in January 2018 and is recognized as an Achiever Member for the College’s commitment to reducing GHG emissions and having a dedicated staff focused on implementing innovative clean energy solutions.
In addition to providing a forum for best practices and engagement across the diverse spectrum of New York’s higher education community, the REV Campus Challenge provides fiscal support, resources, and the recognition needed for colleges to meet their financial, environmental, academic, and community goals through clean energy investments.
