Videoconferencing & Webcasting
Videoconferencing
The Distance Learning and Videoconferencing Center utilizes videoconferencing technology which allows instructors and students to see, hear, and speak to each other in real time while they are not in the same geographical location. Students and instructors interact via audio, video, and computer network technologies. Whether you want to use videoconferencing to reach students at a distant location or to bring in an expert guest lecturer, this technology can be cost effective, time saving, and worldwide.
Dedicated Videoconferencing Facilities
Our trained technical support staff will assist you in reserving one of our videoconferencing facilities, locating a convenient remote location with videoconferencing capability, testing with the locations(s) and providing support before, during and after your scheduled event.
Desktop videoconferencing using Adobe Connect@Hunter
Adobe Connect is a web-based communications tool that allows users to meet, share and collaborate virtually from their desktops. One of the advantages of this system is that there are few technical requirements to use the tool. All you need is a standard web browser and speakers. (A web camera and microphone are optional.) A PC or Mac computer can be used to access the virtual meeting.
A faculty member or administrator can use Adobe Connect to meet with students, colleagues, bring in an expert presenter or other applications that involve real time collaborative interaction among participants in different locations.

Webcasting
Webcasting allows you to reach large, geographically dispersed groups live and in living color via video streaming on the Internet. This technology provides high quality audio and video broadcasts that can be delivered to desktop or home computers. They can be archived to replay in the future or be stored on a CD-ROM. Webcasting is becoming increasingly common and is a cost effective way for delivering information to large groups simultaneously.
Our experienced technical staff will assist you in the planning and delivery of your webcast from our state-of-the-art facility. We will handle all of the technical details, set up the webcast website for you, support your live event with a team of technicians and provide you with a list of your live webcasts and archived program viewers.
