The telecommunications unit maintains PBX phones systems at 68th street and 79th street. Hunter College's 68th Street campus has a Siemens Hipath 4000 PBX  with Xpressions voice mail and Procenter ACD manager. A 500 line Digital Voice Corp system is in service at 79th street. The Silberman School of Social Work Phone system and the 68th street phone system are connected via a T1 tie line.

Due to the need to add numbers over the years, we have 3 different exchanges at the 68th street campus. These are as follows:

• Extensions 3000 to 3999 are 212 650
• Extensions 4000 to 5799 are 212 772
• Extensions 6000 to 6999 are 212 396

The Silberman School of Social Work Extensions 7000-7499 are 212 452

All of these stations at 68th street have a “1” in front of them for on campus calls.

Callers from the Silberman School of Social Work to 68th Street Campus need only dial the 4 digit extension (without the "1.")

Callers from 68th Street Campus to the School of Social Work should dial a "2" in addition to the 4 digit extension.
