- (update 5/16, 20:17) Further delay on secure SIMS access--secure access coming soon
- CUNY has continued to test secure SIMS access, while postponing requiring secure access. About 75% of SIMS users now do use secure access. CUNY recommends that all users already get secure access, because the secure-access-only change will likely be announced with a very short lead time. Please visit the ICIT helpdesk in N109 to get the secure access software.
- (changed 4/24, 20:10) Home access to student records
- Faculty and staff may still have access to SIMS from home. As of Thursday April 28, this access will be limited to the use of secure terminal emulation and secure FTP using SSL only. The new CUNY Hummingbird terminal emulation client will available for Hunter who need to use it at home, either on Hunter owned system or privately owned systems. The ICIT helpdesk in N109 will have Hummingbird disk sets available for distribution starting Tuesday, April 24. We apologize for the delay in their availability. The helpdesk will also distribute installation instructions.
- (posted 4/17, 20:15) Changes to student records
- CUNY security policy forbids the changing of student personal data in student records from off-campus sites. Student personal data does not include the setting of permissions for students to enroll in courses or the use of the webgrade program. These items may be changed from home.
