Thunderbird

Instructions to configure Thunderbird to use Hunter's LDAP Addressbook.

  1. Go to Tools -> Options.
  2. Select the Composition section.
  3. Select the Addressing tab.
  4. Enable the Directory Server option, under Address Autocompletion.
  5. Click Edit Directories.
  6. In the LDAP Directory Servers popup, click the Add button.
  7. In the General tab, enter the following:
    Name: Hunter LDAP Addressbook
    Hostname: dsa.hunter.cuny.edu
    Search Base: ou=phonebook,dc=hunter,dc=cuny,dc=edu
    Port: 389
  8. Click Ok.
  9. Back in the Addressing tab, select Hunter LDAP Addressbook as your directory server
  10. Click Ok.
  11. Start a new mail message.
  12. In the To field, start typing the first or last name for anyone which can be found in the Hunter Online Directory.
  13. You should see a list of potential matches generated, as you type.
