Webmail

Instructions to configure Webmail to use Hunter's LDAP Addressbook.

Enhanced Edition

  1. Log in to your account at https://webmail.hunter.cuny.edu.
  2. Click Contacts from the menu on the left.
  3. Click Directory Services from the menu on the left.
  4. Click the New icon in the top middle menu and select Directory Service from the drop-down menu.
  5. Enter the following information:
    Description: Hunter LDAP Addressbook
    Server: dsa.hunter.cuny.edu
    Search Root: ou=phonebook,dc=hunter,dc=cuny,dc=edu
    Port Number: 389
    Scope: Subtree
    Maximum Results: 100
    Secure Connection: no
    Login Required: no
    Login Name: leave blank
    Login Password: leave blank
    Change password: uncheck
  6. Click the OK button to save your changes.

 

Standard Edition

  1. Log in to your account at https://webmail.hunter.cuny.edu.
  2. Click Address Book from the menu on the left.
  3. Click Find Contacts in the horizontal list of actions above your contacts.
  4. Click Directory Services.
  5. Click the Add Service button.
  6. Enter the following information:
    Description: Hunter LDAP Addressbook
    LDAP Server: dsa.hunter.cuny.edu
    Search Root: ou=phonebook,dc=hunter,dc=cuny,dc=edu
    Port Number: 389
    Scope: Subtree
    Maximum Results: 100
    Secure Connection: leave unchecked
    Login Required: leave unchecked
    Login Name: leave blank
    Login Password: leave blank
  7. Click the Done button.
  8. Click the Done button on the Directory Services list.  You should be at the Find Contacts page.
  9. In the Find in field, select Hunter LDAP Addressbook.
  10. In the Name field, type the first or last name for anyone which can be found in the Hunter Online Directory.
  11. Click the Find Now button to see the results.
