Mailguard allows users to modify spam scores at delivery time
Most of the work of anti-spam and anti-virus is done before any email reaches the user's mailbox and any user-created filters. For fine-tuning of delivery, users can employ 'whitelists' and 'blacklists' to change the spam score of messages so they will be directed to Inbox or Junk Mail more accurately.
Mailguard preferences are set via Webmail. To view or set these, sign-in to Webmail, go to 'Options' and click 'Junk mail Control'. Users may set:
- 'Allowed Senders' (whitelist of email addresses or domains)
- 'Blocked Senders' (blacklist of email addresses or domains)
- 'Allowed Mailing Lists' (use the email address of the lists subscribed by a Hunter email address)
- 'Junk mail Filter' (set your preference for actions by the default Junk Mail filter)
Users may create individual filters for email that is delivered to their mailbox. Note that these filters will only take effect after pre-delivery anti-spam measures. For example, using a filter to adjust the 'UCE Junkmail score' only changes email after delivery and has no effect on system-wide anti-spam settings.
Allowed/Blocked Senders
These lists are for email addresses or domains that you want to exclude from Junk Mail or have automatically put in Junk Mail (after pre-delivery anti-spam measures). Use the Allowed Senders for email addresses to be excluded from scoring and the Blocked Senders to have email automatically scored as Junk when being delivered from certain addresses.

Allowed Mailing Lists
These are for external mailing lists that you are subscribed to under your Hunter email address. Use the email address of the list, e.g. 'thelistnameIbelongto@yahoo.com'
Junk Mail Filter
You can set the default Junk Mail filter behavior in the following ways:
- 'Off' will deliver all email to your Inbox and none will go to the Junk Mail folder;
- 'Normal' will send suspect spam to Junk Mail;
- 'Exclusive' will send all mail to Junk Mail except for the ones in the Allowed Senders and Mailing Lists.

Standard settings for Options > Junk Mail Control > Junk Mail Filter
ICIT recommendation: Keep the Filter Condition set to 'Normal'. The checkbox 'Do not apply any more filters' should be checked, except when users have created custom mail filters to act on Junk mail.
The Junk Mail Filter rule also appears as a rule in the user's standard Message Filters:

Clicking the edit icon jumps the user to the Junk Mail Control panel.
