Introducing NetID Central
NetID Central is the new password management system for the Hunter NetID
Informational
Starting Thursday, October 8, the way you manage your NetID password is changing. NetID Central is a web-based application that will let you change your password, perform a self-reset of a forgotten password, and provide an alternate contact method for ICIT to reach you in case of account issues. It will also impose password strength requirements, which will help prevent malicious account break-ins.
Your NetID is the username you use to access Hunter-specific services such as your Hunter email account, the wireless network, the PAC terminals, Oracle Calendar, the WebCMS, the library proxies, PR Assist, and various ICIT MIS applications. (Note that your NetID is NOT used for CUNY Portal services such as eSIMS and Blackboard. Your CUNY Portal ID and password will be unaffected by this change.)
As of Oct. 8, you will no longer be able to change your password within Hunter webmail; you will need to go to NetID Central instead. While you are not required to change your password at this time, we do encourage everyone to log into NetID Central and register an alternate contact address or phone number. This way, if you forget your password in future, you'll be able to reset it without visiting the Help Desk, and at any time of the day or night.
