Podcasting is a method of publishing files to the Internet through a subscription. Once you subscribe to a podcast feed, new episodes are automatically downloaded to your computer. Podcast episodes can then be listened to or viewed on computers or MP3 players without being on the Internet. You can subscribe to them using software programs called podcatchers. (iTunes and Juice are examples of free cross-platform podcatchers.)
"Podcasting @ Hunter" is a pilot project launched by ICIT and in collaboration with the Center for Student Achievement, Library Services, the Hunter College Radio Station, School of Arts and Sciences, School of Education, Student Government, Student Services and the Welcome Center.
