Informed Registration at Hunter College

The Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) (Public Law 110-315, Original Section 112; New Section 133) requires that all institutions of higher education receiving Federal financial assistance disclose textbook information online in the institution’s Internet course schedule.  As a result, all Hunter College courses must make the mandated textbook information available to students on the official online course schedule.

While you may have included some textbook information on your syllabus and other information distributed to students in the past, you now need to list the mandated textbook information in a standard format that complies with the Federal requirements. To meet these requirements, ICIT has enhanced the Informed Registration framework to allow for a convenient and easy way to enter and display the mandated information. You can access Hunter’s Informed Registration application at www.hunter.cuny.edu/informedregistration.

As in the past, you may also post a syllabus or other course information on the Informed Registration site. However, posting standard textbook information is not optional, and the textbook posting section of Informed Registration must be used to post the required information.

Training

Each department needs to designate a time for ICIT to conduct a brief hands-on training session to familiarize administrative staff and faculty with the textbook posting system.

Faculty and staff can register for the workshops by visiting https://reg.abcsignup.com/view/view_month.aspx?as=31&wp=163&aid=HUNT or just walk in for assistance in Room 402 Thomas Hunter Hall or schedule a training session by sending an email to training@hunter.cuny.edu.
