The International English Language Institute (IELI) at Hunter College is a leader in English language learning.

We offer classes to prepare you for the academic challenges of an American college or university, to sharpen your English skills for business and to help build your confidence speaking English. Our schedule offers classes in the daytime, evening and weekends to accommodate your busy schedule, and you can choose between full-time and part-time programs*.

The IELI in the heart of Manhattan

IELI students not only get the chance to learn English with highly qualified professionals, but also are immersed in a cultural crossroads. Our 68^th Street main campus, and our 94^th Street Hunter Campus Schools, are located on the Upper East Side- close to public transportation, Central Park, shopping, restaurants, museums and theaters. Our Silberman Campus, on 119^thStreet, is surrounded by the Jazz and Soul of up-and-coming Harlem.  Near colleges and universities such as NYU, Baruch, The New School and many more, our Brookdale Campus on 25^th street is just one stop away from 14^th Street-Union Square, and a short train ride from bustling 42^ndStreet-Times Square, where students can enjoy the sounds and sights of Manhattan.  Whichever the campus, one thing is certain: our students are sure to get a taste of the NYC life!
