Professional English Business Certificate
The Professional Business English Certificate is designed for professionals who are seeking to perfect and polish the English language skills they need at work. The program focuses on three areas of language competency: writing, pronunciation/speaking, and grammar. All courses meet during the evening from Monday through Thursday. The certificate is ideal for professionals with limited time who feel they can benefit from improving their accuracy and efficiency in communicating in English.

Pronunciation for Professionals (PECADRV)
In this course, students learn to identify their pronunciation difficulties and increase their accuracy in producing more native-like American English. This class will also focus on producing appropriate rhythms, intonation and stress in conversational English.
Grammar for Professionals (PECADGR)
In this course, students will review advanced level grammar which will help them to improve their overall written and spoken accuracy in order to function more efficiently and feel more secure in a business environment.
Writing for Professionals (PECADWR)
In this course, students will analyze, practice and improve their skills in written business communication, including business letters, reports, memos, summaries, email messages, and meeting minutes, while reviewing and correcting necessary English grammar.

This program runs on a 5 week calendar.
- Students may take 1, 2, or 3 courses each term and may combine them with Academic Skills courses.
- Students can register for a 5-week session and, if they choose to continue, they may register for a consecutive 5-week session which will cover new material.
Note: in order to obtained the certificate, students must complete and pass all programs within the certificate- this may vary depending on the level that student is placed
Oral interviews are required for Speaking and Pronunciation courses, and walk-in placement exams for Writing and Grammar. Prospective students in need of an oral interview should email the IELI at email@example.com to schedule a phone interview and must provide a phone number where they can be reached. Students administered the walk-in exam must place at level 6 for entry.
