Note: Only full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty who were employed at Hunter 8/30/2005 - 6/30/2006 (both Fall05 and Spring06 semesters) were included in the analyses.  Distinguished Professors were added to the Full Professor category for analysis.  Faculty members who were on sabbaticals or childcare leave for either semester would still be included.
Note:  Median years in rank includes the time spent in rank for all current faculty as of 30 June 2006. N indicates the number of 2005-2006 faculty members from that degree range who have ever held that particular rank. CURRENT indicates the number of faculty members in that rank on 30 June 2006. Example: A female Assistant Professor who finished her degree in 1992, was hired 1 September 1992, and promoted to Associate Professor on 1 January 1998, would be represented in both the Assistant and Associate columns for women in degree year 1990-1994. She would be represented in CURRENT for her current rank of Associate Professor only. Her full 6.3 years as an Assistant contribute to the median of 4.33 and the 6.5 years she has currently been an Associate contribute to the median of 5.49.
