All entrances to the Hunter College campuses are now equipped with turnstiles or scanners that operate with the Hunter OneCard, much like MetroCards on subways and buses. Your OneCard is another name for your Hunter ID card. One swipe gives you access to the campus. OneCard is a system that enables you to use your Hunter ID card for a host of campus services, such as printing, copying, dining, using vending machines, and paying library fees.You can put money on your card and check your account balance through the OneCard website or at any of the Account Management Centers (AMC) around campus.
To obtain a new card, replace a lost or stolen card, or for general assistance, you can visit the OneCard Office in Room 126 Hunter West Building on the 68th Street Campus. The office is open Monday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm, and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. During the summer, the office is open Monday through Thursday 8:30am-5:30pm.
Tax-Free Dining (Students Only)
When you use your OneCard in any Hunter dining facility, no tax is charged on your purchases. To take advantage of this feature, you must first activate your Dining Account at the OneCard website. A student can also benefit from the Dining Dollar Platinum Club which is when a student puts a certain amount of money on their card, they receive a credit as a bonus.
To benefit from the Dining Dollar Platinum Club:
- Deposit $100 to your Dining Account, and receive $10 free!
- Deposit $200 to your Dining Account, and receive $25 free!
- Deposit $500 to your Dining Account, and recieve $100 free!
Flex Account Features
Services that you pay for with your OneCard, other than those paid with your Dining Account are paid through your Flex Account.
Printing and Copying
The available printers and copier in the Hunter Libraries and in the Public Computing Labs cost 5 cents per page for black-and-white pages and 15 cents per page for color pages. The cost for copying black-and-ahite pages are 10 cents per page and 20 cents per page for colored pages. These servies can ONLY be paid for with a OneCard; cash and credit/debit cards are not accepted for printing and copying. For a list of copyiers locations, consult the OneCard FAQ.
There are snack and beverage machines on the 2nd floor of the West Building and the 3rd floor of the North Building on the 68th Street Campus that will accept your OneCard as payment. (More vending machines are coming soon!)
You can pay library late fees with your OneCard. Simply present your card at the circulation desk.
If you live in the Brookdale dormitory, you can use your OneCard for the laundry machines.
