Word Comprehension

PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS: Ages 3;0-6;0
Male and female
English speaking or bilingual
Normal hearing

PURPOSE: We are interested in what children understand about verbs.

LENGTH: The study consists of one 1-hour session.

PROCEDURE: In a session, the child plays a game on the computer, in which they see different actions taking place. For example, they might see a person with two pieces of paper who says she wants to fold both of them. Then she folds one of the pieces of paper and asks the child either "Show me the one I folded ," or "Show me the one I didn't fold."

BENEFITS: Our games are fun for children and give parents the opportunity to observe their children's language skills. Each child who participates receives a stuffed animal at the end of the session.
