SPARC Training Program

All Residence Hall students are required to complete the following online training program before checking into the Residence Hall. As part of our comprehensive prevention program and our commitment to provide a supportive learning environment which fosters a safe, healthy relationship among students, Hunter College has partnered with the State University of New York (SUNY) to help college students understand the policies, life skills and proactive action when it comes to sexual misconduct prevention. The module is called SPARC and stands for the Sexual & Interpersonal Violence Prevention And Response Course. In compliance with Federal Law (Campus SaVe Act) and State Law (Education Law Sec 129B), Hunter College requires all students to complete the SPARC online training program, which will be housed on your BlackBoard account.

Please be advised that you must complete the full online training before your Check-In dateto avoid receiving a negative "SOT" service indicator (hold) on your CUNYFirst account. Additionally, this service indicator will prevent you from withdrawing from and/or registering for classes, your current classes may be cancelled, and you will receive a referral to the Dean of Students. Once you complete the training the hold will be released within 24 hours. You will also be able to print or save the certificate of completion for your records.

If you are new to Hunter or a Transfer student, you will see the "SPARC" training on your "To Do" list within the main screen on your BlackBoard account. Please note that in addition to new and Transfer students, if you are a Resident at Living@Hunter, Athlete, Officer of a student club/organization, studying abroad, or taking part in some overnight school trip, you must complete the training activity every academic year. If you are a Resident and fall under one of the aforementioned categories, you will only need to complete SPARC once in an academic year.

Continuing students who are not new or Transfer students must follow the SPARC Online Training Program Instructions below.
