Effects of the Privatization of the Colombian Television

Television is an important source of entertainment worldwide. Many studies have attempted to understand the effects of television in core areas such as United States and Western Europe. Few studies have examined television in third world countries, such as in Latin America. This study will also look at the development of private versus public television and ownership of television historically. The examination will help to explore current issues such as the types of programming, audiences, and the audience’s demographics in this country.
