Medical Laboratory Sciences Program

The Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) Program was founded in 1970 as an undergraduate major of the Institute of Health Sciences.

The MLS mission is to educate entry level laboratory professionals to accept positions in the wide range of health related laboratories in the New York area. These include:

  • hospital and private diagnostic labs
  • academic research laboratories
  • pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies

 

Registration advisement for new MLS majors for the Spring 2019 semester will take place on the dates listed below. This includes students who entered the major in a prior semester but have not yet begun to take MLS classes. Students currently enrolled in MLS classes should NOT attend these sessions, but follow listmail and posted instructions. Advisement will take place at the Brookdale Campus (425 E. 25th Street), West Building, 7th floor, room 700A:

Friday, November 16, 1:00pm-4:00pm
Wednesday, November 28, 2:00pm-4:00pm
Thursday, December 6, 10:00am-12:00pm

Wednesday, December 12, 1:30pm-3:30pm

MLS is now offering a new Advanced Certificate in Cytotechnology in collaboration with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). The application deadline for Fall 2019 admission is April 1st, 2019. For application details, please visit Hunter College's Graduate Admissions here.

The Spring 2019 application deadline for the Masters in Biomedical Laboratory Management (BLM) is November 2018 Non-degree options are also available. For application details, please visit Hunter College's Graduate Admissions at http://www.hunter.cuny.edu/graduateadmissions.

The next application cycle for the Advanced Certificate in Medical Technology (AC) has a deadline of March 1st, 2019
