Further Education

The majority of MLS alumni pursue at least part-time graduate studies or specialized training within a few years of graduation. The small size of the program allows faculty to become well acquainted with students and help to guide and provide the support necessary to sharpen and fulfill ambitious goals.

A variety of awards and scholarships are available to assist qualified students with tuition and training, and MLS students receive guidance and support in obtaining these funds.

Some typical pathways following the MLS degree:

  • graduate school (masters and doctoral) in biomedical science, management, healthcare administration, etc.
  • specialized lab education, e.g. cytotechnology, cytogenetics, forensics
  • medical/dental school
  • other clinical professions, e.g. PT, PA, RN, etc.
  • teaching credentials

Join us for an information session on the MS in Biomedical Laboratory Management (BLM) as well as other CUNY PSM degrees. It will be held at the CUNY Welcome Center (205 East 42nd Street, NY, NY) on Tuesday March 11, 2014 from 5:30pm - 7:00pm in room 818-819. (Learn more about PSM at http://www.cuny.edu/site/psm.html) There will be a second session on Monday March 31st from 3:00pm - 4:00pm at the CUNY Graduate Center (365 5th Avenue at 34th Street, room TBA).  

The Fall 2014 deadline for the Biomedical Laboratory Management (BLM) is April 1st, 2014.
