The Muse Scholar Program seeks to deepen student engagement with the arts both at Hunter College and in New York City. A specially designed curriculum educates Muse Scholars in the common principles of artistic expression as well as the distinguishing characteristics that define individual art forms.
Classroom lessons are complemented by visits to cultural institutions throughout New York, including performances and exhibitions at Carnegie Hall, Le Poisson Rouge, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City Center, the Rubin Museum, the Society of Illustrators, and many others. Muse Scholars are also encouraged to engage with the arts by joining ensembles and clubs, taking internships, and participating in other activities.
