Muse Scholars play Hunter Homecoming 2014

A group of Muse Scholars performed during Hunter's first annual all-class Homecoming in April, showing off their musical talents for a crowd of alumni. After the performance, the scholars spoke with the audience and answered questions about the Muse Scholar Program.

Muse performers included: Nataliya Blyschak (Class of 2017), who sang an original song and accompanied herself on guitar; Ilana Krugolets (Class of 2017), who sang songs by Adele and the band No Doubt; Maureen Murray (Class of 2017), who played a cello composition by Mark Summer; and Michael Petruso (Class of 2015), who sang a song from the Disney film "Frozen."

Over 1200 alumni attended Homecoming 2014, which included dozens of events throughout the day, including readings, concerts, games and lectures.

The event was truly a celebration of past and present, as the College welcomed alums from the Class of 1934 through the Class of 2014, including Bel Kaufman, who will be 103 next month. Also in attendence was Dascha Polanco, from the Netflix series Orange is the New Black. Polanco '08 attended a Muse Scholar performance and also introduced the screening of Kelly Anderson's documentary My Brooklyn.
