Muses attend Tony Awards
Muse Scholars Maureen Murray (photo, left) and Serafina Tiranno-Cimisi (photo, right), both in the Class of 2017, attended this year's Tony Awards on June 8 at Radio City Music Hall. The two Music majors won a lottery for rush tickets that enabled them to attend the ceremony hosted by Hugh Jackman.
"It was an amazing experience to be surrounded by so many incredibly talented people that we have so much respect for," said Murray.
Two of the plays nominated for Tonys were attended by the Muse Scholars this year. The Class of 2017 saw Violet, nominated for Best Revival of a Musical, and met the show's composer Jeanine Tesori during a special class as well as with cast members during a post-show talk back. All classes of Muse Scholars were invited to attend After Midnight, nominated for Best Musical.
