It's a Graduation Fair!

To January 2010 Degree Candidates:
Commencement Countdown is Hunter's special one-stop event to help you get ready for commencement. At the Commencement Countdown, you will be able to order a cap and gown, a frame for your diploma, announcement cards of your graduation, plus you will be able to check with Degree Audit that your application has been received for processing, explore graduate school opportunities and scholarships, and register with Career Development Services and the Alumni Association.

Commencement exercises will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010, at 3:00PM at the Hunter College AssemblyHall.  Essential information about this important occasion will be distributed during Commencement Countdown. As such, you should be sure not only to carefully review all the links provided about commencement, but also to attend the Commencement Countdown.

If you are planning to attend Commencement, please complete an online Commencement Attendance Response Form no later than 7:30 PM Wednesday, November 18, 2009 or complete online at Commencement Countdownon Wednesday, November 18, 2009, 11:30AM - 7:30PM in the West Building Lobby. Please Note: November 18, 2009 is the FINAL date to file an online Commencement Response Form to ensure that your name will appear in the commencement program.

Commencement Countdown for January 2010 Graduates

Commencement Countdown is Hunter's special "Graduation Fair” where you will be able to:

• Order a cap & gown
• Order a class ring
• Order diploma cases and frames
• Order personalized graduation invitations
• Hear the most recent graduation announcements
• Confirm with Graduation Audit that your graduation application has been received for processing
• Obtain information about graduate school and scholarship opportunities
• Register with Career Development Services and the Hunter College Alumni Association
• File your online Commencement Attendance Response Form

Commencement Attendance Response Form
Students who have fulfilled all of their degree requirements prior to September 1, 2009 (for September Graduates) or January 21, 2010 (for January Graduates) are invited to attend Commencement Countdown.  All candidates eligible for winter (January) 2010 graduation and who are planning to attend the Commencement ceremony MUST file an online Commencement Attendance Response Form by 7:30 PM, Wednesday November 18, 2009 to have his/her name included in the commencement program. Caps and Gowns
Academic regalia - caps, tassels, gowns, and hoods - must be worn by all candidates and may be purchased beginning November 18, 2009 at Commencement Countdown.

Cost:
Bachelors degree candidates: Cap, tassel, gown and hood cost $60.98 + tax

Masters degree candidates: Cap, tassel, gown, hood and graduate distinction cord cost $70.98 + tax

Note: A 10% discount will be given to students who order and pay for their cap and gown during Commencement Countdown.

KEEP YOUR RECEIPT!
You must have your cap and gown purchase receipt to collect your commencement tickets.

Candidates wear colored tassels on their caps that correspond to their academic majors. Please be ready to provide this information at the time of purchase.

Class Rings, Diplomas, Frames & Cases, Announcement Cards
Class Rings will be available for purchase at Commencement Countdown, November 18, 2009, from 11:30AM - 7:30PM in the West Lobby. For more information, click on www.hunter.bkstore.com

Senior Photos
You may have your Senior photo taken at Commencement Countdown on November 18, 2009, from 11:30AM - 7:30PM in the West Lobby. Thornton Photographers will also be on campus before Senior Salute on  several dates in November,  in the West Lobby.  Please call Thornton Photos at 212-647-1966 to set up an appointment in advance (Commencement Countdown does not require an appointment). Students who do not have an appointment will be accommodated whenever possible.

Tickets
The Sale of Commencement Tickets is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

You must present your photo I.D. and your receipt for your cap and gown purchase when picking up your commencement tickets.

Each graduate will receive two (2) Hunter College Assembly Hall tickets and one (1) Kaye Playhouse ticket, where the ceremony will be broadcast live. Tickets will be distributed at the Campus Connection Booth, located on the Third Floor of the West Building, outside the cafeteria, on:

• Monday, January 4 through Thursday January 7, 2010
  10:00AM - 7:30PM
  
• Friday, January 8, 2010
  10:00AM - 4:00PM
  
• Monday, January 11, 2010 through Thursday, January 14, 2010
  10:00AM - 7:30PM

Tickets will be available ONLY on the above dates and at the times indicated.  If you are unable to personally pick up your tickets, you may have someone pick them up for you. They are required to have a photo I.D., plus a photo copy of your I.D., a letter of authorization and the receipt for your cap and gown purchase.

NOTE: Additional tickets, if available, will be distributed by lottery only. When you pick up your tickets, you will be given a “lottery card” to complete and submit. You will be notified via email if your name is drawn as a ticket winner. These tickets must be picked up on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at the Campus Connection Booth between 11:00AM and 7:00PM.
