President's Message

Dear Alpha Phi Members and Friends,

It has been almost a year since I became your chapter president and I am pleased to share that the Alpha Phi Chapter supported the call to action by our Sigma Theta Tau International President Dr. Carol J. Huston to lead globally by being intentionally global, building knowledge resources, developing leadership, and providing service.  We have provided funding support for several nursing research projects and have co-sponsored numerous programs and initiatives, including our Service-Learning Project in the Dominican Republic led by Dr. Joanna Hofmann, the International Service Learning Task Force participated by Dr. Donna Nickitas, the Region 14 Consortium on Genetics/Genomics Nursing Competency, and the Annual Spring Forum on 4/1/09 celebrating our nursing school's 50th Anniversary led by Dr. Diane Rendon as our 50th Anniversary Chairperson.
