Purpose

This half day program will focus on issues relevant to women’s health, especially related to New York City and the tristate area. The ease of accessibility and availability of information can be fraught with confusion and contradiction for women, their partners and families, and clinicians. This program will focus on clarifying the salient health issues and providing clear concise guidelines to best provide care to women.

Objectives

  1. Identify how to navigate the myriad of information sources regarding a breast cancer diagnosis.
  2. Discuss the prevention of cervical cancer through vaccination and the updated screening guidelines.
  3. Describe a reproductive care plan and the necessary steps involved in enacting the plan.
  4. Explore the issues facing adolescents as they deal with the challenges of healthy decisions in an increasingly complex society.
