A MESSAGE FROM DEAN KRISTINE M. GEBBIE

Welcome to the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing website.

The School of Nursing at Hunter College prepares nurses at the baccalaureate and masters levels to practice 21st century nursing in complex urban environments, and with complex patient populations.

The School of Nursing faculty are recognized leaders, bringing clinical experience and up-to-date research and teaching methodologies directly into the classroom and every part of education.

Whether you wish to pursue a baccalaureate degree, master’s, or a certificate Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing is the perfect choice. Its acclaimed undergraduate programs will start you on your way to a career in the exciting and rewarding world of nursing. Its internationally recognized graduate nursing program can prepare you for professional advancement, a career as a nurse practitioner or many other possibilities.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing is scheduled for a reaccreditation visit by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) in October 2009.  There is an opportunity for affected parties, including students, alumni, faculty and the practice community, to provide written input into the deliberations of the evaluation team.  Written and signed third-party comments will be accepted by CCNE until 30 days before the visit, currently scheduled October 19-21. Third-party comments are shared with members of the evaluation team prior to the visit, but at no time during the review process are these comments shared with the program.   Please direct comments to:

Beginning in the Fall 2009 semester, all CUNY nursing departments will require applicants for admission into nursing programs to provide documentation in one of the following categories:  U.S. Citizenship; Permanent Residency; International student with F1 Status; or Granted Asylum, Refugee Status, Temporary Protected Status, Withholding of Removal, or Deferred Action Status by the U.S. government.  There will be no exceptions to this policy.
