ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS


  • Completion of a  Hunter Graduate application. Admission is for Fall semester only.
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited university with GPA of at least 3.0 preferred (overall and major).
  • Graduate Record Exam (GRE). The ETS GRE code for Hunter is 2301. We do not have a required minimum for GRE scores. We encourage all candidates to apply, as the committee looks at the overall application when making admission decisions, and does not use any single criteria (e.g., GPA or GRE score) to determine admission to the program.
    Note: the GRE is not required for applicants with a graduate degree from an accredited U.S. or Canadian university.
  • TOEFL exam is required if undergraduate degree is from a country where English is not the official language.
    Minimum score: 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based), or 100 (internet-based).
Application Content Submit all application materials to Hunter Graduate Admissions:
  1. Hunter Graduate online Application
  2. Electronic transcript(s) from all institutions of higher learning attended (official transcript required if currently attending Hunter)
  3. Statement of interest (500 words maximum)
  4. 2 letters of recommendation
  5. Resume
  6. TOEFL scores, if applicable
Application Deadline
March 1
Non US-institution: Applicants who have completed all or part of their university studies in a non-US institution and/or require student visas must submit their applications by February 1

PREREQUISITES

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from a U.S. accredited institution or approved foreign institution
  • Successful completion of an ACEND-accredited undergraduate Didactic Program (DP) in Nutrition & Dietetics
  • Successful match with an external (non-credit bearing) Supervised Practice Program
    Note: Students may start taking graduate courses as a non-degree student during their supervised practice, but will need the DI Verification Statement in order to matriculate into the MS track.
