Course Modes of Instruction Coding

Courses at Hunter College are taught in several different ways, from the traditional classroom environment, to courses that are conducted entirely online. Additionally, there are several options that combine online and classroom learning to varying degrees. Students can find a course's "instruction mode" by clicking on the course in the searchable schedule of classes and looking under "class details". 

The following codes correspond with the course modes of instruction offered at Hunter. 

P = In-Person: 
No course content or assignments delivered online.

W = Web-Enhanced: 
No scheduled class meetings are replaced, but some of the course content and assignments, as well as required or optional activities, are online.

PO = Partially online: 
Some of the class work is online, less than 33% .

H = Hybrid (Blended): 
Between 33% and 80% of scheduled class meetings are replaced with online activities or virtual meetings.

O = Online: 
More than 80% of scheduled class meetings are replaced with online activities or virtual meetings.

FO = Fully online:
All of the class is online and does not meet in person.
