Adjunct Professor

Joined the Hunter College faculty in 1972 as an adjunct lecturer till 2004 as an adjunct professor. Current philosophical interests include classical Greek philosophy, Plato, early modern philosophy, aesthetics, feminist theory, women philosophers (before 1950).

Current research interests include philosophical writings of women, especially (but not exclusively) during the early modern period with a focus on (1) whether women's reflections on philosophical issues differed from those of their male contemporaries and, if so, how and why and (2) ideas about women's lives and the education of women.

Currently working on a critical edition of the philosophical work of Lady Damaris Cudworth Masham, who was a close friend of John Locke and a correspondent of Leibniz.
