Editorial Review Board
The board includes figures widely recognized for significantly influencing Nietzsche
studies during the past thirty years. While their particular interests and
approaches diverge, they share a commitment to making the Journal of Nietzsche
Studies a venue that serves as an index for the most philosophically provocative
research, a genuine guide to the literature through its reviews, and a helpful
resource for further inquiry.
R. Lanier Anderson is the current chair of the program committee of the North American Nietzsche Society and has published numerous articles on Nietzsche.

Keith Ansell Pearson is a co-editor of the first English translation of Nietzsche's Kritische Studienausgabe, and a co-founder of the Friedrich Nietzsche Society. He has charted the course of Nietzsche studies through his many books and articles, his edited volumes, his collections of Nietzsche's writings, and his tireless organizing.

Maudemarie Clark has authored many articles and book chapters on Nietzsche, and she is the co-editor and translator of Nietzsche's On the Genealogy of Morality. Her Nietzsche on Truth and Philosophy (Cambridge, 1990) continues to serve as the gold standard for studies of its kind.

topics ranging from technical issues concerning logical
content and confirmation to Nietzsche’s account of how
philosophy is merely the last manifestation of the
ascetic ideal. With Dr. Simon May, he is editing

University Press, forthcoming 2008) and is also editing with John Richardson The Oxford Handbook on Nietzsche (Oxford: Oxford University Press, forthcoming 2009).

Richard Schacht's contributions to Nietzsche Studies are nearly immeasurable. In addition to authoring Nietzsche (Routledge, 1985), now a classic in the
literature, he has served for many years as the executive director of the North American Nietzsche Society. Schacht's conferences at Allerton are legendary, and their scope is the inspiration for this roster of editorial directors.

Alan Schrift has put forth a singular effort to bridge English and French language studies of Nietzsche. He is co-editor with Keith Ansell Pearson of the Stanford translation of

Paul van Tongeren directs the Nietzsche
Research Center at the University of Nijmegen, and is
the author of Reinterpreting Modern Culture: An
Introduction to Friedrich Nietzsche’s Philosophy (Purdue
University Press, 2000), as well as more than 80 articles
on Nietzsche, the history of philosophy and moral
philosophy. With Gerd Schank and Herman
Siemens, he also edits the Nietzsche-Wörterbuch, Band
1 of which was published by de Gruyter in 2004.
