Abstract:
Wave-particle duality, the fact that a particle can act as a wave or a particle, but not both at the same time, has been a feature of quantum mechanics from the beginning, featuring in the Bohr-Einstein debates.  There have been a number of relations found that quantify the wave-particle tradeoff.  Recently a theory of quantum coherence was developed within the context of quantum resource theories.  We review that theory and show how the coherence measures that emerge from it can be used to formulate wave-particle duality relations.
